training

and entrepreneurship

vulnerable) has the ability to make a success of their lives. It takes the
right kind of support and guidance to tap into a person’s potential.
The History
of Lyndon Barends & His Company
The DAD Fund was started by Lyndon Barends in 2003 in honour of one
of his teachers, Daniel Arthur Douman (DAD) who was an outstanding leader. He
touched the lives of many while serving within the education system.
He attended Good Hope College then proceeded to
complete his higher education at Helderberg College, qualifying as a pastor. He
entered the educational field and taught at Good Hope College from 1975 until
1992 when he re-entered the pastoral work.
Lyndon Barends
and many students will never forget his generosity and fatherly support when he
served as the Dean of Boys at the Good Hope College Hostel. He then served as a
dedicated and concerned pastor until his untimely death in 1999.
The memory of Daniel Douman has been left with
us as a legacy to remind us that all things are possible if you only believe.
His personal character attributes are those that Lyndon Barends would like to promote in the youth of today, hence
the Dad Fund.
